"Learn the Effective Use of Yoga Props for Teaching Your Classes"

Yoga teachings have come down through the ages from the great sage Patanjali. The asana you teach in class help your students to gain steadiness, strength, balance and flexibility in body and in mind. Your classes and your teaching have the power to make th practitioner healthy in all respects. Knowledge of the use of props is an invaluable asset to teachers who truly want to help their students by addressing their unique bodies and needs.

This 4 week course meets on Tuesday afternoon from 3:45 to 5:15pm.

October 6 Support in Backbends
October 13 When and how to use props for standing poses.
October 20 Teach Inversions safely with props
October 27 Learn how to use props to teach restorative yoga postures.


Thursday Topic

"Working with Beginners"

Meets Thursdays 3:45 - 5:15 (5 classes)
Cost $150

The practice of yoga like any subject should be learned systematically. Beginners should start with a practice that brings elasticity to the body, gradually builds stamina and mental and physical steadiness.  This workshop is designed to help yoga teachers connect with and help their beginning students safely and effectively. 

Each week we will cover a different aspect of working with beginners and each week will include a beginner class sequence which Laura will teach you as if you were a beginning student and explore the teaching topic of the day.

This 5 week course meets on Thursdays afternoons from 3:45 to 5:15pm.

October 1 Why standing poses are a good place to start for beginners and things to focus on in standing poses.
October 8 How to work with common beginners injuries and health issues.
October 15 Sequencing for Beginners. How to introduce beginners to the practice of yoga without scaring them away and keep them coming back.
October 22 Dealing typical beginner issues? tightness, low-body-intelligence, frustration
October 29 Inversions for beginners and how to teach dog pose to beginners (stiff/tight/clueless)
